x6tence Galaxy and Complexity kicked off the best-of-three series on Nuke, with the Swedes starting on the T-side. Tim "nawwk" Jonasson and Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora's double kills secured the pistol round for x6tence Galaxy who made it 3-0 after winning the first gun round.
Linus "Bååten" Andersson clutched a 1vs4 to make it 6-0 and the Swedish side secured two more rounds to lead 8-0. Complexity responded by taking six of the following seven rounds, finishing the half 9-6 behind.
After Complexity picked up the first two rounds in the second half, Bååten won a 1vs1 to keep his team ahead (10-8). Complexity managed to tie the game twice but x6tence Galaxy grabbed five consecutive rounds to win the map 16-11.
The CT-sided x6tence Galaxy secured the pistol round on Inferno thanks to nawwk's triple kill. André "BARBARR" Möller & company dominated the early parts of the game, leading 5-1. Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker clutched a 1vs3 and got an ace in the eleventh round, giving Complexity their fifth (6-5). The North American side picked up three more to lead 8-7 at halftime.
Plopski clutched a 1vs3 in the second pistol to tie the game and his team took the lead after fending off Complexity in the following round (9-8). x6tence Galaxy were leading 12-8 when nawwk had a crucial 1vs3 clutch.
The Swedes managed to win a 3vs5 in the following round, making it 14-8. Bååten's ace and 1vs3 clutch in the 24th round gave his team six match points. x6tence Galaxy finished off the map with a 16-11 scoreline and won the series 2-0, advancing to the semi-finals at DreamHack Open Winter 2018.
